Mary Beth Fisher, ANP-BC, CDE, Adult Nurse Practitioner, North Kansas City Hospital

Diabetes is rising in the United States. Our speaker will provide an overview of the incidence of diabetes, and discuss the values for normal blood glucose, pre-diabetes, and the diagnosis of diabetes.  She will discuss food and exercise, and their effects on diabetes. She will help explain food products labels, how to interpret the correct food values and balance those factors as part of a healthy diet.

We have seen more use of valued based care. Our speaker will provide an overview of the value based programs, why they ar e a valuable tool, and provide insight into their future in the healthcare industry. She will explain how analytics can provide a full picture of a member’s health risks, care and enhance efficiency. Tracy will also describe insurance carriers’ new shared focus with care providers to manage health care costs and quality

Angie Lucchi, Assistant Vice President of Telemedicine and Outreach, HCA MidAmerica

Angie will demonstrate how robotics and telemedicine are changing the health care delivery system and making specialist care more convenient and accessible. The payment structure for these models are complex and innovative, and reviewed extensively for quality of care and compliance. Diagnosing medical conditions from miles away is becoming more commonplace. Learn how one organization is providing quality, convenient care with this technology. Angie will address the group sharing the latest innovations in telemedicine.

The opioid crisis is having a toll on healthcare costs. And one of the areas in the forefront of this crisis are the emergency medicine physicians in treating these patients. Dr. Stamper will also take a look at the public policy developments and the impact it may have on your clients and their healthcare costs.
