    A day in the life. As our Client Executive on the EH&B team, you’ll help to establish and maintain relationships with both prospect and client decision-maker(s) and will have overall client services responsibilities for assigned accounts by overseeing and co-managing a book of prospects and/or clients with dedicated Producers. You will help to produce and oversee coverage analysis/spreadsheets, identify necessary marketing efforts, and conduct other various service activities, including adding new lines of coverage and negotiating renewals with prospect and/or clients.

    Experience:    

    Group employee benefits experience of at minimum 5+ years at carrier and/or broker (broker experience desired and preferred). Most recent experience in elevated client services role – this is not for a new to the industry or newer colleague in the industry, but rather a more seasoned professional looking to continue their career path.
    Life and Health License required
    These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:

    Strong Technical knowledge of benefits insurance coverage
    Strong time management, delegation and organizational skills
    Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel & Outlook

    Position Description:

    REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer

    JOB GOAL: 
    Manage and plan the day-to-day administration of group benefit programs. Educate employees on benefit plans and processes. Ensure district compliance with benefit-related laws and regulations. Partner with administration, brokers, and carriers to explore new benefits programs and to assess current programs for effectiveness and alignment with NKC Schools organizational objectives. Identify and implement best practices, and develop recommendations to attract and retain employees.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Supervises day-to-day administrative processes and decisions as they relate to district benefit plans including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision plans, ancillary benefits, and supplemental retirement plans.
    Educates employees and retirees about available benefit plans.
    Ensures that benefit eligibility and elections of current and former employees, retirees, and dependents are kept current in the district HR/Payroll system, third-party enrollment provider, and all carriers.
    Serves as liaison to insurance company representatives and benefit consultants in resolving employee claim issues.
    Effectively manages vendor and carrier relationships to ensure cost-effective and timely implementation and delivery of employee benefits. Assists in the monitoring of carrier compliance, contract provisions, and district policies.
    Plans, coordinates, and leads the annual open enrollment process, including system testing, design of communication materials and curriculum, and providing effective and interactive employee information sessions.
    Validates payroll reports for employee benefit deductions and district contributions.
    Reconciles payroll deductions with monthly invoices for payment.
    Maintains current knowledge of benefit-related laws and regulations. Ensures compliance with governmental regulations related to benefit programs and labor laws, including but not limited to ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, CMS.
    Administers annual reporting and processing for ACA and CMS.
    Partners with Finance and HR teams to understand and create benefits offerings that complement the district’s total rewards package.
    As needed, assists the Wellness Specialist with annual events such as health screenings, premium discount tracking, flu shots, and mobile mammograms.
    Supports assigned staff for the purpose of aiding in the performance of their work activities.
    Possess autonomy in performing some administrative functions through to completion.
    Adheres to good safety practices.
    Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
    Complies with all district rules, regulations, and policies.
    Other duties as required or assigned.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 
    The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities. The position requires a moderate amount of travel and physical activity.

    CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:  
    The work environment is consistent with typical office/school environment.


    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 
    Salary and work calendar to be established by the Board of Education. Benefits according to Board policies. 

    FLSA: Exempt

    RETIREMENT: Public Education Employee Retirement Systems (PEERS)

    CLEARANCES: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance

    EVALUATION: 
    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluations utilizing the Performance Based Support Staff Evaluation process.

    Experience:

    Experience working in an educational setting preferred. 

    Three to five years’ experience in benefits administration or related field.
    CEBS designation or PHR certification preferred.
    Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
    Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    Possesses effective problem solving and analytical skills.
    Computer proficiency required with strong skills in Excel and experience with HRIS/Benefits databases.
    Experience working in an educational setting preferred.
    Experience with BusinessPlus/PowerSchool software preferred.
    Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.

    Education Level: Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
