WHY LANGUAGE MATTERS IN CLINICAL SITUATIONS

Join us on February 22, 2023 when we begin our programming for 2023 with a webinar on ethics.  We will follow this with an in-person meeting in April.


Back by popular demand is RYAN PFERDEHIRT. D. BIOETHICS, HEC-C,who is Director of Membership and Ethics Education at the Center for Practical Biioethics. Dr. Pferdehirt was our luncheon speaker at the seminar last June and received high praise for his presentation on DNR orders.

During this webinar he will discuss the literacy divide in healthcare issues between healthcare providers and patients and their families, and how language can be used as a tool to improve communication.

Ryan Pferdehirt is Director of Membership and Ethics Education at the Center for Practical Bioethics in Kansas City. Ryan's research areas include moral philosophy, end-of-life ethics, and advance care planning ethics. He holds a Healthcare Ethics Consultant Certification (HEC-C).

Ryan has a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, a Master of Science in Bioethics/Health Care Ethics from Creighton University and a Doctorate in Bioethics/Medical Ethics from Loyola University Chicago.

This webinar has  been approved for one hour of Kansas and Missouri ethics credit and SHRM credit.

Must be a 2022 or 2023 member in order to receive the credits.  There is a 24 hour cancellation policy.
